ARC to Reopen to Faculty and Staff May 1

The Activities and Recreation Center reopened to students last week, and now faculty, staff and emeriti will be able to return starting Saturday (May 1).

The ARC has reopened twice over the course of the pandemic only to be forced to close about two weeks later when conditions worsened each time. This time, officials are confident improving conditions will allow it to stay open.

ARC to Gain Workout Space in Expansion Project

The Activities and Recreation Center is closed today through Thursday (July 25-27) in preparation for major expansion of exercise space that has grown crowded since the ARC’s opening in 2004. Equipment is being moved around and temporary walls are going up to allow for the construction that is expected to last into 2019.

NEWS BRIEFS: Help Harvest a Field, Help Yolo Food Bank

Volunteers are being sought to help with a campus harvest that will benefit the Yolo Food Bank. The harvest is scheduled from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday (Jan. 29) in a student-planted, educational-use field just west of the Student Farm.

The project is being organized by the swag�� Arboretum and Public Garden’s Learning by Leading team, comprising student interns in edible landscaping.
