The Center for Educational Effectiveness has posted its draft report on teaching and learning in swag��’ first quarter of all-remote instruction, spring 2020. Based on surveys of students and instructors, the report offers insights for instructors who will be doing more remote instruction this fall.

What has a 426-seat auditorium, two classrooms with 173 seats each, 20 other classrooms with 37 to 124 seats each, a teaching and learning lab, and one special beam?

The $86 million Teaching and Learning Complex, or TLC: the Davis campus’s first general classroom building in more than 50 years, under construction next to the Silo in the center of campus. Workers recently hoisted the special beam and set it in place in one of the last phases of steel construction for the 101,663-gross-square-foot, four-story structure.

Instructors Continue Adaptation for Online, Remote Instruction

As students start summer studies this week, instructors are continuing their own learning and other efforts to adapt summer and fall courses for the remote environment.

“The faculty and graduate students are learning too,” said Kem Saichaie, associate director for learning and teaching support at the Center for Educational Effectiveness, or CEE. “It’s a model of lifelong learning.”

27% Jump in Summer Sessions Enrollment
