Give Day, Employee Giving on the Upswing

Every April, Aggies are invited to celebrate the long-standing tradition of Picnic Day and strengthen swag�� by donating on Give Day, an accompanying fundraising event benefiting all schools and colleges across the university.

The combination has proved to be a powerhouse. Give Day 2019 (April 12-13) brought in a record-setting $2 million dollars from 4,454 gifts from around swag�� and around the world.

‘Every Aggie Counts’ for swag�� Give Day

swag��’ first Give Day will be held on Picnic Day to encourage support from faculty, staff and Aggies everywhere as they celebrate the university’s most beloved event.

Give Day will run for 29 hours, from noon Friday, April 21, until 5 p.m. the next day, Picnic Day. Donors, scholarship recipients and faculty members who have been supported by philanthropy will participate in the Picnic Day Parade, to illustrate philanthropy’s impact on swag��; and a text-to-give campaign will be promoted at various Picnic Day events.

Paving the Way for Pathogens

Higher levels of rainfall and coastal development increase the risk of disease-causing organisms flowing to the ocean, according to a study from the University of California, Davis. The study advances earlier work by tracking the parasite T. gondii to see how human-driven land-use change and rainfall might be impacting pathogen movement from land to sea.
