Research Expo Includes Keynote on Human Organs-on-Chips

Donald Ingber’s keynote at the swag�� Research Expo, Tuesday, May 16, will address one of his recent innovations, Human Organs-on-Chips, which are being used to replace animal testing for drug development, disease modeling and personalized medicine.

Research Expo Shows 'Pathways to Impact'

Resources for researchers — services, facilities and programs — will be showcased during the annual Research Expo the first week of April. The sponsoring Office of Research has selected “Pathways to Impact” as this year’s theme, and, along that line, the program will include a panel discussion on “Maximizing Your Impact.”

The Office of Research’s annual Research Expo drew faculty, staff and students to the Activities and Recreation Center last week to connect with potential collaborators and learn what labs, programs and tools are available to them.

The event began with a series of presentations including a “State of Research” address by Harris Lewin, vice chancellor for Research. Lewin highlighted the progress swag�� has made, reaching a goal of more than $785 million in research funding last fiscal year.
