‘Make It Count’ on 3rd Annual Give Day

4,000 Gifts Came in Last Year, Totaling $1.7 Million

Picnic Day inspires Aggies to celebrate how swagÍâÁ÷ has shaped and enriched their lives. It’s a wonderful time to think about giving back — and Give Day, a 29-hour fundraising drive starting the afternoon before Picnic Day, offers Aggies everywhere an exciting array of opportunities to do just that.

Held online and on campus, April 12-13, Give Day benefits students, programs and initiatives in nearly all swagÍâÁ÷ colleges, schools and units, including swagÍâÁ÷ Health. Donations of any size are welcome and will be multiplied by challenge gifts set up by other donors to motivate widespread giving.

Employees of swagÍâÁ÷ and swagÍâÁ÷ Health are among those encouraged to participate in Give Day, which takes place during Employee Giving Month. A number of challenge gifts focus on scholarships and other opportunities for staff.

Last year’s Give Day raised more than $1.7 million from 4,047 gifts from alumni, faculty, staff, parents, students and friends of swagÍâÁ÷.

This year’s Give Day, with the slogan “Make It Count,†promises even greater success, organizers said, noting the role of philanthropy in a number of swagÍâÁ÷’ stellar accomplishments of late, including being named the nation’s fifth-best public university, qualifying as a Hispanic Serving Institution and winning the school’s first Big Sky football title.

“Now in its third year, Give Day is a recognized presence with tremendous impact at swagÍâÁ÷,†said Shaun Keister, vice chancellor of Development and Alumni Relations. “People are aware that they can make a difference through gifts of any size. We all play a pivotal role in improving the education, research, programs and services we care about.â€
