The wine tasting — this month featuring white wines — is scheduled for April 4, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the , as usual. No reservations are needed. Admission is $10, or $8 if you are wearing a pin.

Don’t have a staff pin? You can buy one at the wine tasting, with the $5 cost going toward Staff Assembly scholarships.

The pub and the Vintage Aggies Wine Club sponsor the monthly Wine Flights. Each includes the tasting of four wines (paired with food), and “terrific deals” on the wines to take home.

12th annual Winkler Dinner

The student group DEVO — — is selling tickets for the 12th annual Winkler Dinner, a five-course meal prepared by top chefs, with each course thoughtfully paired with wine.

The wine is being donated, and the winemakers will be present to introduce their wines, the organizers said.

Live and silent auctions will accompany the dinner — and the entire event serves as a fundraiser for DEVO’s group winemaking projects and field trips to various wine regions, alumni events and student-faculty mixers, and scholarships for international winemaking internships.

This year’s Winkler Dinner, with musical accompaniment, is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the courtyard of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science.

Tickets are $150 each, and the organizers advise people to make their purchases early, due to limited seating. You can order or send a check to Davis Enology and Viticulture Organization, in care of the Department of Viticulture and Enology, 1 Shields Ave., Davis 95616.
