The campus is planning to shut down chilled-water service (including air conditioning) to 16 buildings at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, to accommodate a pipeline construction project.

Pablo Orozco, senior project manager-supervisor with Design and Construction Management, said the chilled-water service should be back online by 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, but unforeseen conditions may extend the shutdown to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22.

Another chilled-water shutdown, affecting only King Hall, is scheduled from 6 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24.

The campus is upgrading its network of underground steam and chilled-water lines, primarily used for heating and cooling of buildings. The project cost is $3.6 million.
